Where can I find the Rental Terms and Conditions?

Under the Terms tab on the homepage. You can also find them on the third and final step of the booking process under the Rental Conditions link at the bottom of the confirmation page.

Is a credit card in the main driver´s name required?

No, you don´t need the main driver´s credit card to make a reservation. Additional drivers (free/no extra cost) can be added on arrival at the rental office. All additional drivers must be present at the rental counter at the time of rental with their own driver´s license to sign the rental agreement.

How can I add additional or extra drivers to my booking?

Where do I pick up the car when I have arrived in the airport?

We offer a pick up at Keflavik International Airport. When your flight has arrived, our employee will be waiting for you with your name on a whiteboard.

What documentation do I need to take with me to the rental desk?

You will typically need to bring

Passport, drivers’ license, and credit card.

What is a fuel policy?

Our fuel policy is “pick-up full – return full.”

What is Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)?

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an insurance limiting your liability to the excess amount in case of damage

CDW comes with all our rentals – at no cost.  This insurance has exclusions such as damage to glass (e.g. windows, windscreen, etc.) tires, undercarriage, roof, and loss of keys. For example, if you damage the undercarriage of the rental vehicle you will be liable for the full cost of repair.

What is Vehicle Theft Waiver?

It is an insurance limiting your liability to the excess amount in case of theft of the vehicle. All our rentals are covered with this insurance – at no extra cost.

Can you explain what the Liability Insurance is?

It is an insurance limiting your liability for any damage caused to other people and or other people’s property. Mostly it´s restricted to a maximum of $ 1,200,000. The insurance is limited, and there may be excess which means that you may be liable for any amount over and above the value of the insurance.
TIP:  You can purchase an Excess Insurance at the time of booking to reduce the excess to €0 (Service provided in partnership with Mondial Assistance)

How do I reduce the excess on the vehicle? Can I take out additional insurances to reduce it?

The Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) insurance reduces the excess on the vehicle (included). To see the self-risk amount go to the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) in the Terms.

Included (no extra cost) with all your rentals are these insurances:

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) – Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) – Gravel Protection (GP) – Theft Protection (TP) and Sand & Ash Damage Waiver (SADW).

What is an international driver’s licence and why do I need one?

The short answer is: You don´t need an international driver´s license when renting a car with us – only your national driver´s license!

But to answer “your question”: The International Driving Licence (IDL) is recognized worldwide as a valuable document that identifies its holder as a licensed driver when your license is not in the same language as the country in which you are driving. With some car rentals companies you must also produce a National Driver’s Licence with this license; otherwise, they will not accept you.

Most of our rates cover Breakdown assistance, but please read the Obligations of the Renter in the Rental Terms to learn more about what´s outside the Break Down Assistance.
